Collective Worship is fundamental to the life and purposes of St George’s and supports the development of the Christian foundation, vision, values and ethos.
Collective Worship provides the opportunity for the telling of the Christian story, the impact of our school values as well as times of reflection and prayer. The Church school is a community which is inspired by the Christian understanding of God as Trinity; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Through daily Worship, the children are encouraged to be reflective about their own beliefs as well as reflect on how the use of the school’s values impact their daily lives. Worship also enables the children to develop their interest in and respect for different people’s faiths, feelings and values.
Collective Worship is an important part of the whole school community and throughout the week we enjoy a variety of Worship including musical praise and a celebration themed Worship, where parents and carers are invited. The children play a large part within Worship too and throughout a term, many of the children involved within school council lead their own Worship. We are also very proud to have Worship led by regular special visitors linked to our local church including the Open the Book team, Reverend Hugh and Paul Willmott.
